Building Skills, Creating Opportunities: Our First Nations Pilot Program with Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation
3 days ago
Omnia Training is proud to launch a new Construction Program in partnership with the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. This pilot program marks an important step in expanding access to hands-on, work-integrated training and creating meaningful career pathways within the community.
Participants in the program are gaining practical experience across a range of in-demand construction skills, including carpentry, landscaping, concrete, asphalt, and skid steer operation. Through a combination of guided instruction and real-world application, students are building the confidence and capabilities needed to succeed on active job sites.
This program reflects our commitment to working alongside communities to deliver training that is relevant, accessible, and impactful. By partnering with Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, we’re helping support workforce development while creating opportunities that align with local strengths, goals, and industry needs.
We’re excited to see the progress of this first cohort and look forward to continuing to grow programs like this in collaboration with Indigenous communities across Alberta.
